  • To help you grow the value of your station and successfully navigate through the ever increasing daily challenges of TV sales. To be a resource for the station and seamlessly integrate with the station's Sales Managers and AE's providing expert guidance and implementing fresh ideas in such areas as:
    • Building share of existing business while developing new business.
    • Creating new revenue stream opportunities including the Internet.
    • Developing business proposals to outsell the competition.
    • Taking the long view into the future on Inventory Control.
    • Revenue forecasting and Pricing strategies.

WHY "TV SALES COACH" MAKES SENSE IN TODAY'S ECONOMY:

Many stations today need a highly skilled person to help rejuvenate their sales in this worsening economy!  Yet, they can't afford to hire a full time $100,000+ television sales management executive.

For that reason, I created TV Sales Coach to enable television stations to utilize the benefits of a veteran television sales and management professional on a part-time basis without the high cost and time consuming effort involved to search for and hire a full time person. 

TV Sales Coach is a flat fee "weekly" contracted service at the station.  The options are many even including as little as one week a month for as little as three months.  Even if your budget does not allow for a full time, highly experienced, sales management executive; your station can still benefit from the wider prospective and range of experiences that one can provide.

Conversely, you may have already decided that the station needs to hire a full-time sales and management professional.  In that case, TV Sales Coach can fill a temporary leadership void within your station's sales department thereby giving station management more time to find and hire the best possible person.

NOT A BOOK OR A SEMINAR:

Rather, TV Sales Coach is designed as an ongoing, 3, 6 or 12 month contracted working relationship with your sales team.  I will be embedded with your sales staff monthly or bi-monthly working to achieve your revenue goals.  I'll work with your underperformers to speed up their basic success as well as your overperformers to help make their selling success more profitable for the station.

PRIORITIES, POSITIONING & MANAGEMENT:

As your TV Sales Coach, I will work shoulder to shoulder with your station's sales staff on your most important revenue concerns.  I'll stay actively involved for up to a year-long basis for follow up evaluation and discussion of important issues and projects.  I will work confidentially with a limited number of stations.  While the basic job of selling time is consistent from market to market, each station has its own individual characteristics, market niche and sales personnel and as such should be treated as an individual entity.  The bottom line goal is to improve the station's revenue position in the market.

My 50-point "Checklist For Success" is designed to speak directly to your specific issues and concerns.  Together, we'll identify high priority items that should be built into an Action Plan along with specific benchmarks, timetable for achievement and expected results.  Remember, it's your agenda and you're in charge!

SPANISH LANGUAGE TELEVISION:

During 2005, I sold Spanish language television for Univision and Telefutura stations in a major market.  I understand the dynamics involved and worked "hands on" selling Spanish language television to general market local direct, non-Hispanic advertisers and agencies.

NEW MEDIA:

I'm experienced in new media to attract new ad revenue to your station.  Ten years ago, my vision of the then "infant" Internet was to use it as a compliment to television and visa versa.  I designed and implemented a two station branded automotive website to increase local car dealer advertising on the stations.  Not only was this successful for the dealers, it also attracted the attention of "For Sale By Owner" automotive advertisers throughout the market who contributed to the station's overall revenue stream.  Together we'll look at Internet and New Media options and discuss if the station is maximizing or missing new revenue.
